Our Story

We started farming because we were frustrated with the produce found at most local grocery stores. The limited organic offerings were expensive and looked like they spent weeks on the back of a truck. The sad fact is that majority of organic produce available in the Tri-Cities is shipped from California, Arizona, Mexico, and beyond. Because of this, everything is picked too early. Harvesting before peak ripeness compromises nutrient concentrations, color, and most importantly taste.

Established is 2020, Olson Organics began with a 750 square foot home garden and a goal to do things differently; harvest veggies at the right time using natural growing methods.  Healthy plants are a natural result of healthy soil. We care for the soil first by using minimal tillage, deep compost, natural amendments, biologically active and fermented nutrients, human-powered tools and absolutely no pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. This produces veggies that are rich in color, nutrient-dense, and a taste that takes our customers “back to their childhood”. In 2024, we purchased a 10-acre farm to provide our customers and community with a whole human diet; fruit, veggies, bread, eggs, and pastured meats. Our vision of “food the way God intended” is the driving force behind our energy, practices, and stewardship.

Olson Organics operates year round with a weekly “pop-up” farm stand from May to September and a virtual farm stand October to December. In 2025 we launched a CSA to provide customers with a curated selection of fresh veggies that can be delivered to their door weekly, without the hassle of getting to the farmer’s market.

Our Methods

Olson Organics supplies a whole human diet using natural farming techniques that exceed organic standards. Our primary focus is on building soil health by reducing mechanical disturbance, intensive planting, and diverse crop selection within our hand-tended gardens.

Our livestock is managed using rotational grazing and we follow the “one bad day” approach, which promotes animal wellbeing, increases soil health, and results in the highest quality animal-based products.

Jarred • Owner, Farmer

Jarred was born and raised in the concrete jungle of Southern California with no formal agricultural training or education. He is a passionate problem-solver. After his wife faced a 6-month battle with an undiagnosed mystery illness, he decided to take matters into his hands. Everything he found pointed to deficiencies in the food his family was eating.

Jarred discovered how critical it is to know how your food is raised. Through years of self-guided research and trial-and-error he is now the backbone of Olson Organics and has a passion for educating others on all things food and farming.
